Family & Adult Programs

Massie offers learning opportunities for all ages. We are an ideal destination for out-of-town visitors seeking guided tours, locals learning more in-depth about Savannah’s history, and community members wanting to connect to special-interest topics.

Evening Walking Tours:

Throughout the year, Massie’s Education Staff conducts specially designed walking tours that explore local history and gives a deeper insight into Savannah. Topics, dates, and times are posted on our news feed and Facebook page once scheduled. Evening walking tours are family-friendly and best suited for those who can handle the rigger of a 90-minute walk downtown. Cost for guided program admission applies.

Senior and Adult Groups:

No visit to Savannah is complete without an overview of the city’s famous Oglethorpe Plan! Massie is perfect for out-of-town and newcomer groups that are interested in a comprehensive introduction to the city. Learn about where it all started with a guided tour. Groups may customize their program by exploring other exhibitions in the museum or by adding a walking tour in our neighborhood. Call 912-395-5070 to speak to a Heritage Educator to book your program. Guided group rate admission per-person applies. Group must have 10 or more participants.

Lectures at Massie:

There is no experience like enjoying a keynote or a conversation right where our school started: in Massie’s historic 1856 classroom. Join us throughout the year for lectures, community conversations, and guest speaker talks. Topics, dates, and times are posted on our news feed and Facebook page once scheduled. These events are free to the public and are best suited for older learners.
