Visit

Massie Heritage Center is Savannah's Museum for History and Architecture. The museum is open to the public for self-guided visits. The museum has six galleries with exhibitions that cover Savannah’s history and prehistory, architecture, maritime connections, and history related to Massie School and public education. Location and Parking, Hours and Prices, and even information about Renting Massie for your next event can be found through our website.

Accessibility

Massie is wheelchair and mobility accessible. Ramps and an elevator will allow guests to explore the museum. Accessibility into the first floor of the museum is located along Abercorn Street. Please call ahead prior to your visit and a guest services representative will assist you with entering the museum.

Gift Shop

Enter the building through our welcoming Gift Shop, where you will be greeted by a wide selection of Savannah history books for children and adults, locally produced products, toys and souvenirs. Massie is also a proud seller of Savannah's very own famous sweet treat, Leopold's Ice Cream (owner Stratton Leopold even attended school at Massie!). We have items that are perfect for Girl Scouts, local history lovers and those that are looking for that perfect Savannah-themed souvenir. We also carry a special collection of hand-crafted and curated jewelry that feature designs inspired by Savannah’s connections to ports across the world.

Sales from our gift shop help support the mission of Massie, including our educational programs. As a unit of the Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools System, sales from our shop are tax-exempt. Friends of Massie members receive a 10% discount for all gift shop purchases.
